Fabulous Friday!

I found another one!  Things to do with Paint chips! I have a ton of paint chips from all of the deciding that comes with updating the house. Some of it reminds me of things Anna would make. She is very artsy, she did not get that from me.
Have a great and creative weekend,

This Worked!

I actually tried one of the things that I posted about. I feel so creative. It's kinda nice.
I made the DIY Liquid soap from Creative Cain Cabin.

I changed a few things though. I used Ivory soap and I made soap clouds(microwave half a bar of Ivory soap for about 30 seconds and then crumble it when it cools).

I then cooked the soap "dust" and water. We let it cool overnight. What I found the next morning was the strangest thing ever.
It wasn't a liquid and it wasn't a solid. DJ and I had a blast playing with it though. It reminded me of Bob from Monsters vs. Aliens.

On the second day, I didn't add as much water as the directions said. I added 16 cups instead of 24. I didn't get 2 gallons of soap but I'm happy with the consistency. It doesn't lather like regular hand soap and is a bit more "snotty" but your hands feel really clean afterwards. So for $1.34 I have enough hand soap to last months. I will be doing this from now on, it so much cheaper and its too much fun not to.
Off to wash,

Wicked Wednesday!

I know that you want a little more Mayhem. Funny thing is we had problems with this when we redid the roof, not to that extent but they are a pain to adjust.
Have a wicked Wednesday,

I dealt with a lovely woman in India that could barely speak English. That didn't help my mood. The kicker is that I gave them my checking account number so they could withdraw funds, they just didn't do it in a timely manner. So I got shorted-fine its free money but still......

A Winner and a Couple of Losers

And the winner is number 4, McVal! liked her the best. McVal please send me your info and I'll get the money right out to you!

And I am sorry to say that Den and I didn't win anything. We ran right through the winnings from last time. I'm totally fine with this too. You know how I like to pinch a penny or two but this was free money that we blew so all is good in my book and we got a free vacation.
I didn't take any pictures this time. There twernt a Big Bird to be found. LOL. We didn't go to the Strip, we explored off the beat and path casinos. In the end, it was a nice trip. It did take a few days to dry us out though. So I guess that means that it was a good trip. I also had a few words for a snotty woman. I will blame it on all the Amaretto and cranberry that I drank.
We earned a free buffet so after we stood in line forever and handed the coupon over to the woman, she informed us that we needed to cash that coupon in for another coupon. Hmmmm, redundant but fine. She told us to cut to the front of the line since we had already stood in line. Yup, I bet you guessed how that went. So we went and got a second coupon and cut in line. A prissy little snot decided cutting wasn't cool. And pointed it out loudly. I then told her the story possibly with a bit of slurring. At that point, I was fine with slurring my words a smidge-Den was having a hard time standing. WAIT, I DO HAVE A PICTURE OF DEN!
I took it with my cell, so sorry. But Den was drinking a whiskey and a beer as one round. We had more than our share of rounds.
Anyways, back to the prissy little snot. She was not happy even after I told her the story. And I was drunk feeling good, so I finally got sick of trying to be nice and asked her if she was going to have a tantrum. I don't talk to people like that but it worked quite well and she decided that she was just kidding.
We did score a bunch of round trip tickets and I didn't even have to get bumped off of the plane. Den and I signed up for a Spirit credit card. You get a bunch of free tickets just for signing up. And you know how I love free stuff.
When we got back, I got a mailer saying that I had earned three free nights at one of the hotels out there. Why didn't I get all of this stuff before we left? Den said it is a sign from the Vegas gods that they want us back. Well if they want us bad enough, they can send me some money.
Have a dry week,
Sonya Ann

Money Baby!

Guess where I am? No really, guess!
Well I guess that it wasn't that hard to figure out. We used the winnings from the last trip to pay for this trip. So as we speak, or read as it may be, I am downing more than my fair share of drinks and spending free money! Yay for having so many addictions!
Just to be fair to all of you, I am having another giveaway! $20 to the winner. And I hope that you will spend it more wisely than I would. I would double down with it. Well not really cuz I have yet to figure out what that means. I would just bet black on roulette.
Anywho, here is the deal-
You get one entry a day! That's it. Just leave a comment and send me a winning vibe and you are in baby! I'll pick a winner when I get back. The giveaway will end on Sunday the 23rd.
Good luck to all of us,
Sonya Ann

Fabulous Friday!

I found another fun spot to hang out! It's Creative Cain Cabin. I can't wait to try out the DIY Liquid soap. I was reading the comments and one of them was to microwave your Ivory soap into "clouds" and then make the liquid hand soap. I'm so there!
Have a great weekend,

I'm Smart

Ok maybe I'm not the one that is so smart, maybe it is Glade. But I am smart for finding this! You add this to your paint and your walls smell of Vanilla or whatever sent you pick when you paint. Just pour it in, mix and paint(it was with all of the paint supplies). It is so awesome. Every time you walk downstairs, you get a whiff of vanilla. Hmmmm, should I paint the boy's undies?
Always a project,
Sonya Ann

A Hug and Bread

This 9-11 is hitting me a little harder than normal. I feel the need to hug my loved ones. So consider yourself hugged.
I feel the need to nest too so I'm going to share a wonderful English muffin bread recipe. I got it from somewhere.  I'm sorry to whomever posted it and I didn't write down your info. I'm an ass.

But here it is
5 1/2 cups warm water
3 packages rapid rise yeast
2 Tablespoons salt
3 Tablespoons sugar
11 cups flour
Mix together in order then spoon into 4 greased pans. Let rise in pans until dough reaches the top of the pans, and bake in 350 degree oven for 35-45 minutes or until golden brown.  Makes 4 loaves.

If you make this bread, it comes with Sonya instruction and you are only allowed to make the bread if you do as you are told! The bread just isn't that great unless it is cut thin and toasted. If you do this, it is amazing! I won't be buying English muffins anymore. This is so cheap and its really easy to make.
Love and hugs,
Sonya Ann

Can you see the difference? I bet you can't. We painted the downstairs rec room. It is still in need of new couches and pillows. We will get them just as soon as we get a new kitchen table. Ha! It has become the running joke-the table that is. We are never going to buy one just everything else around it. Whatever, I'm just happy that everything is getting painted.
If I just think about updating/fixing/redoing one thing at a time, it isn't so overwhelming. It seems possible. I have also figured out that we should bring things into the house that make us happy, not what the latest magazine says. That revelation has helped a ton.
To save money on paint, Den mixed the blue/green for the bathroom. Note to self and everyone else, if you mix your own paint-for some reason it will seem almost white until it dries on the walls. Mix it and then let a test spot dry and see if you need to add more paint. The good news is it only cost about $4 for the blue and the green tester.
I got that white cabinet for above the toilet for $40 from Goodwill and it was still in the box. The bathroom didn't have any storage so this was a wonderful find.
The blue/green vase thingy on top was a free gift for checking out a new furniture store a while ago. The clear vase is from Dollar tree and so are the things(not sure what they are really) in the vase. So $2 for that and last but not least.....................
My $1 brass fish that I got from a garage sale. I love it, Den not so much. On another note, the bathroom looks like it is two different colors in the two pictures. Not so-Den's mixing skills are second to none. I think it had something to do with the person taking the picture.
The bad news is we spent another $50 on paint and supplies. I really thought that we had enough to do the entire project. Nope.
Now all that is left is my bedroom and the upstairs bathroom.
Thanks for coming to see me,
Sonya Ann

Fabulous Friday!

I will be spending my entire weekend at Southern Dispositions. And I had so hoped to get some weeds pulled!
Have a great weekend,

Doomsday Budget

Ok so I have been thinking about an article that I read a little while ago. It is called, "Majority of New Jobs Pay Low Wages, Study Finds." Riveting title, right? Well it did suck me in so I guess I should shut up about it.
Summed up(and I'm a sucky sum-it-upper), some of the good paying jobs that were lost have been replaced with crappy-minimum wage jobs. Yeah, that sounds about right.
It also went into how there will only be very good paying jobs and sucky paying jobs. Again, that sounds about right.
So what if this is an inevitability for all of us? I know I sound like an "End of the world" sort of person but just play along. How do we prepare for this? What do we do as individuals to live and thrive on minimum wage? What if we have a year to prepare? Five years? ten years?
I have talked about the unemployment budget before but what about a doomsday budget. Hmmmm, I need another plan.
Just a question,
Sonya-I like to worry-Ann

Feel Free to Drool on Your Desk

I got another $25 from BP. I think the key to my success is that I'm making this automatic. The more things that I set up and are easy to deal with the more money I will have for Christmas.
So here is what we have,
 My Points $25 (gift card)
Send Earnings $27.94
Pinecone $54
Toluna $80
Amazon Gift card $100(won)
BP $275
HHGregg Visa cards $469.99
For a grand total of------$1031.93
Eventually you will stop coming here because its boring. I get it.
I also heard about a new site that you loan your car out to. Go here for the real scoop.  Has anyone tried this or something like it? It said that I would make around $5400 a year. I don't know about this one. Anyone, anyone?

Oh So Connected

Remember how I said before that I wanted to reconnect with our house and yard. Blah, blah, blah. Well reconnecting means work. Why does it take me this long to figure out the true meaning of words?

Easy, peasy grout cleaning tip. Very hot water, Oxi-clean, and an old toothbrush(or your enemy's toothbrush, does a husband count as an enemy?). Scrub and let it dry. Vacuum it up and then mop.
For some reason it takes a while for it to completely whiten but it does work very well.
Here is the damned yard, that I have connected with. Bastard weeds.
And to make things worse, it rained terrible while we were yanking all of the weeds. Den kept saying that we should stop and go to the casino. I was mean and told him to carry on with the pulling.
That is the best that we can do with the back fence.
And this is the wonderful find that I well, found at a garage sale. It was only $5 and next year I will get a huge planter to hang in it. I was hoping that it would draw attention away from the ugly piping for the pool. I think all that it is doing is drawing attention to it. I'll figure something out next year.
